Census, 1906.—Industrial Statistics.

THE following tables (Nos. XXIX to XXXVI) relating to Census industrial statistics are published, in continuation of Nos. I to XXVIII in previous Gazettes, for general information.
Those now given complete a series relating to single industries, including such as are considered of sufficient importance as to require special tables. Summary tables embodying the combined results for all industries will follow, with special tables relating to mining of different kinds and fisheries, the figures for which have been excluded from the general inquiry embracing manufactories and works.

- Value of land, buildings, and plant in one case included in engineering return. † The articles manufactured comprise ploughs, harrows, disc and spade harrows, horse-hoes, cultivators and grubbers, sowers and drills, rollers, farm drays and wagons, horse hay-rakes, chaff-cutters, turnip-cutters, seed threshing and cleaning machinery, straw-elevators, windmills, wool-presses, swingletrees and yokes, also sheep-racks.
