NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of “The Public Works Act, 1905.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington has commenced, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the extension of the waterworks at Karori—and for the use and enjoyment of such public work the land described in the Schedule below is required to be taken.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of “The Companies Act, 1903,” that an Extraordinary General Meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held in the Canterbury Caledonian Society’s Hall, No. 116 Worcester Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 20th day of December, 1906, at 3 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of directing by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, shall be disposed of.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1903”; and in the matter of the Hawke’s Bay Timber Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court of New Zealand under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1903,” was on the fifteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six, presented to His Honour Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of the said Supreme Court of New Zealand, by Jane Holder Mathews, of Hampden, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, Widow, John Pettit, of Dannevirke, Farmer, and Ernest Albert Barton, of Feilding, in the Provincial District of Wellington, Banker, contributories of the said company; and the said petition is directed to be heard before His Honour the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court House, Wellington, on Monday, the tenth day of December, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same. The names and addresses of the petitioners’ solicitors are Bell, Gully, Bell, and Myers, of Wellington, solicitors for the said Ernest Albert Barton; and Sainsbury, Logan, and Williams, of Napier, solicitors for the said Jane Holder Mathews and John Pettit.
