Validating the Term of a Proposed Loan of £2,500 for
Widening and Metalling the Awaroa-Mahoe Road, which
Term was erroneously quoted in the Loan Proposals as
being for a Period of Forty-four Years instead of Forty-
one Years.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
sixth day of November, 1906.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Kawhia County Council lately pro-
posed to raise a special loan of two thousand five-
hundred pounds for widening and metalling the Awaroa-
Mahoe Road from Gray’s Landing up as far as the Te Toi
Road: And whereas in the four weeks’ notifications of the
proposal of the said Council the term or duration of the
said loan was stated as forty-four years instead of forty-one
years: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the
special-rating district have not been misled, and it is expe-
dient to validate such irregularity:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the consent and
advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in him by section ten of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amend-
ment Act, 1902,” doth hereby validate the notifications so
published as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare that the
proposal to raise the said loan shall be as valid to all intents
and purposes as though the said notifications and the term
of the said loan had been duly and regularly made, stated,
and published, and doth hereby declare that neither the
said proposal to raise such special loan nor the special rate
made to secure the interest and charges on the same shall
be called in question by reason only of the irregularities afore-
said.
