Lands in Hokio and Potaka Townships, Wellington Land District, for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up to 12 o'clock noon on Wednesday, the 5th day of December, 1906, for leases of the undermentioned lands for a term of twenty-one years, with right of renewal for a further term of twenty-one years, under the provisions of "The Native Townships Act, 1895," and its amendments, and the regulations made thereunder.

Situatcd at the mouth of the Hokio Stream, on the left bank. Accessible from Levin Railway-station, about five miles and three-quarters distant.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

  1. Tenders must be addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington, and indorsed on the outside, 'Tender, Township.'
  2. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of a half-year's rent at the rate offered, in cash or by marked cheque, together with the lease fee of £1 1s.
    Possession will be given on the day of acceptance of tender.

The improvements (included in the price of the section) consist of half of 78 chains and the whole of 47 chains of wire fencing, wire-netted, on south boundary, half of 22 chains on west boundary, half of 6 chains and one gate on north boundary, and 50 chains of interior fencing; total value, £56 7s.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, under the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900," and its amendments, at this office, on Wednesday, the 28th day of November, 1906.
If more than one application is received for the section on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided by ballot.

    Agricultural land; good soil, clay subsoil; slightly undulating, and in English grasses; fenced on all sides, and contains two-roomed house. Situated close to the Avondale Railway-station.

Broken country; about one-third mixed forest, comprising tawa, with thick undergrowth of small scrub; balance tea-tree and fern; soil second-class quality, with some good flat along the Waimana River; well watered. Situated about six miles from Taneatua Post-office.

There is permanent water in the Dulburn and Waitahuna Streams. Distant about four miles by a good road from Clydevale. Altitude, 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
