Extract from Specification.—The object of this invention is to provide a cheap, simple, and reliable attachment that can be quickly fixed to many of the smaller machines in present use on farms, &c., such, for instance, as grubbers. For this purpose we make a wheel composed of a number of slicers or cutters, said wheel fixed to work freely as to its turning and as to its up-and-down movements, so that it will work in uneven places if required to do so. This wheel (which is capable of working and being instantly moved either to the right or to the left-hand side of the machine to which it forms an attachment) is placed at an angle of, say, about 45° (more or less) with the line of movement or the lines of the planted furrows to be thinned.
