Petition for Incorporation by the Owners of the Kapuarangi No. 1 West Block.

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

In the matter of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and its amendments, and of the petition for incorporation by the owners of the Kapuarangi No. 1 West Block. At a sitting of the Court held at Opotiki, before William Gilbert Mair, Esquire, Judge, and Mare Teretiu, Assessor, on Thursday, the 30th day of August, 1906.

UPON reading the petition for incorporation lodged herein, and upon hearing the petitioners and the evidence adduced on their behalf, and the Court being satisfied of the consent of the majority of the owners of the said Kapuarangi No. 1 West Block, and that such block can be dealt with to the advantage of the owners thereof by being incorporated as hereinafter appearing, it is ordered that the owners whose names are set out in the Schedule hereunder written shall be and the same are hereby constituted a body corporate within the meaning of section 122 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” by the name of “The Proprietors of the Kapuarangi No. 1 West Block,” subject to the powers, liabilities, and incidents conferred or imposed by the said Act or any amendments thereof. The said land contains 11,474 acres 2 roods, or thereabouts, and being all that part of the said Kapuarangi Block situate to the westward of a line drawn from the point where the Hawaii River crosses the boundary-line between the said Kapuarangi Block and the Tunapahore Block to a point on the boundary of the Kapuarangi Block at such distance to eastward of the Kapuarangi Trigonometrical Station as shall divide the said Kapuarangi Block into two equal moieties or half-parts, and called Kapuarangi No. 1 West.

And it is hereby ordered and directed that a general meeting of the proprietors of the said block shall be held at Torere on Saturday, the 29th day of September, 1906, at the hour of 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of nominating a committee to administer the said land, and fixing the number of its members.
