No. 21550.—1st August, 1906.—HINRICH PETER DIEDRICH OHLHAVER, of Sande, near Bergedorf, Germany, Merchant. Improvements in and relating to milking-machines.
Claims.—(1.) In a milking-machine of the character described, an air-regulating passage, or orifice, connecting the suction passage from the non-return valve to the teat of the animal with the outside atmosphere, so that a regulated amount of air will pass inwards therethrough, for the purpose of obtaining alternately an increasing and decreasing vacuum therein. (2.) In an air-regulating passage of the character claimed in claim 1, the use of an adjusting screw having a tapered slot therein, substantially as and for the purpose specified. (3.) In an air-regulating passage for the character claimed in claim 1, the use of a regulating valve arranged and operating, substantially as described with reference to Fig. 4.

No. 21560.—30th July, 1906.—ANDREW JOHNSTON, of Devonport, near Auckland, New Zealand, Artificer. An improved combined mop and scrubber device.
Claims.—(1.) The combined mop and scrubber device specified, consisting of two handles carrying two discs inwardly fitted thereto, having their lower ends turnably fitted to between two cross-pieces, a rod or bar adjusted to and fixed between centre of said cross-pieces, having a mop fixed to one end of said rod or bar and scrubbing-brush fixed to other end of said rod or bar, said other end having a suitable angular shape, and cross-bar turnably fitted to end of one handle slotted to engage end of other handle for the purpose set forth as described and illustrated. (2.) In the combined mop and scrubber device covered by claim 1, the rod or bar adjusted and fixed to between centre of two cross-pieces, and having a mop fixed to one end and scrubbing-brush fixed to other end of said rod or bar as specified. (3.) In the combined mop and scrubber device covered by claim 1, the two handles turnably fitted to two cross-pieces and the two discs inwardly fitted to said handles so as to immediately fit over mop when said mop is projected inwardly, as specified.

Extract from Specification.—According to this invention an improved auxiliary fuel-box for stoves and the like consists of a box open at one end and having a removable lid, and is generally oblong and rectangular in shape, but should conform to the shape of the firebox of a stove, and is supported in front of and with its floor or bottom level with said firebox by a bracket from a U-shaped frame, the return of which rests upon the hearth or floor or projecting footplate of stoves whose fronts are not in the one vertical plane, and the ends whereof take under the hollow nosing of the stove-plate. In some cases the box may be constructed in two parts telescoping one within the other.
