tain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any
block of land it shall be necessary that the same be pro-
claimed as set apart for settlement :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the pur-
poses of the said Act, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for
settlement.

Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-eighth day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

Land in Block VII, Waitara Survey District, taken for
Scenic Purposes.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under “The Public Works
Act, 1905,” and “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” for
scenic purposes :
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in
fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has
been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for
the purposes intended to be effected thereby :
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate show-
ing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and
the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this
Proclamation should be issued :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
“ The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “ The Scenery Preser-
vation Act, 1903,” and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is hereby taken for scenic purposes as aforesaid. And it
is hereby declared that this Proclamation shall take effect
on and after the fourteenth day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and six.

be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land
for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed
and performed :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
“ The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “ The Scenery Preser-
vation Act, 1903,” and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby
taken for scenic purposes as aforesaid. And it is hereby
declared that this Proclamation shall take effect on and
after the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine
