Native Land reserved under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may appoint a Commission who may inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there may be thermal springs, and report thereon to the Governor, with recommendations as to what lands should be reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas such Commission was duly appointed, and, after inspection, recommended that the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereunder should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be reserved under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

Land taken for a Further Portion of the Stratford-Kawakawa Railway, Huiroa Section, and for Road-diversions in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Stratford-Kawakawa Railway, Huiroa Section, and for road-diversions in connection therewith.

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the said further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified, and for the road-diversions aforesaid.
