NOTE.—In the early part of month the weather was boisterous, but the temperature was mild and the rainfall small for the middle of winter. Gales occurred on the 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, and 15th. Mean daily range of temperature, 9·7° F.; mean dew point, 41·6° F.; mean relative humidity, 78 per cent.; mean elastic force of vapour, ·263 in.
