"The Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1903," for the
purpose of taking, under the Public Works Act if necessary,
and completing the Adamson's-Ruanui-Turakina Road, the
said Upper Wangaehu Road Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 6d. in the pound upon the rateable value of
all the rateable property in the Adamson's-Ruanui-Turakina
Road Special-rating District, as defined by special order of
the Upper Wangaehu Road Board for the original loan of
£1,500 made on the 1st day of November, 1902; and that
such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the
1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-
one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I, Alfred Clement Mannington, Clerk to the Upper Wa-
gaehu Road Board, hereby certify that the foregoing is a cor-
rect copy of a resolution making a special order passed by the
said Road Board at a special meeting held at Mangamahu on
Saturday, the 2nd day of June, 1906, and confirmed at an
ordinary meeting held at Mangamahu on Saturday, the 7th
day of July, 1906, public notice of such subsequent meeting
being given in the Wanganui Herald of the 14th, 21st, and
28th days of June, and the 5th day of July, 1906.

Council, is published in accordance with the provi-
sions of "The Counties Act, 1886."

Special Order.
THAT the new boundaries of the Otangaki Riding be as fol-
lows:—
Starting at the northern side of the Manawatu River on
the south-eastern boundary-line of the Oroua County; thence
along the south-eastern boundary to the north-east corner of
the said county; thence along the north-east boundary-line
in a westerly direction to the western boundary of Section 12,
Subdivision L; thence along the western boundary-line of
Sections 12, 15, 16, and 17 to the north side of the Spur
Road; thence across the Spur Road on the same line;
thence along the southern side of the Spur Road in a westerly
direction to the western boundary of Section 28, Subdivi-
sion M; thence along the western boundary of Sections 28
and 21, Subdivision M, to the north side of Ulysses Road;
thence across Ulysses Road on the same line; thence along
the southern side of Ulysses Road in a westerly direction to
the western boundary of Section 15, Subdivision M; thence
along the western boundary of the same Section 15 to its
south-western corner; thence along the southern boundary
of the said section in an easterly direction to the north-west
corner of Section 5, Subdivision M; thence along the western
boundary of the said Section 5 to the Feilding Road; thence
across the Feilding Road on the same line; thence along the
southern side of the Feilding Road in an easterly direction to
the north-western boundary of Section 34, Subdivision O;
thence along the western boundary of the said Section 34 to
its south-western corner; thence along the southern bound-
ary of Section 33 in a westerly direction to the western
boundary of Section 27, Subdivision O; thence along the
western boundary of the said Section 27 to the Ashhurst-
Bunnythorpe Road; thence across the said Ashhurst-Bunny-
thorpe Road and railway reserve on the same line; thence
along on the southern side of the said roads in an easterly
direction to the north-east corner of Section 51, Subdivi-
sion P; thence in a southerly direction along the western
boundaries of Sections 51, 52, 53, and 54, Subdivision P, to
the southern corner of the said Section 54; thence along the
southern boundary of the said Section 54 to the northern
side of the Palmerston-Gorge Road; thence across the road
on the same line; thence along the southern side of the
Palmerston-Gorge Road to the centre of the Raukawa
Road; thence along the centre of the Raukawa Road to the
centre of the Manawatu River; thence up the centre of the
Manawatu River to the south-eastern boundary of the
county; thence along the south-eastern boundary to the
starting-point.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
made in accordance with the provisions of "The Counties
Act, 1886," and the amendments thereof.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
THE following is the result of the poll of ratepayers taken on
the 6th July, 1906, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £500,
under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and amend-
ments, to provide the cost of construction of two bridges on
the Feilding-Awahuri Road:—
Total number of votes recorded, 31; number of valid votes
recorded in favour of the proposal, 28; number of valid votes
recorded against the proposal, 3.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the pro-
posal being more than three-fifths of the total number of
valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be
carried.

WAITEMATA COUNTY.
Declaration of Poll.
PROPOSAL to borrow £8,500 for the purposes of a water-
supply for the inhabitants of the Northcote Water-supply
District, on which a poll was taken on the 2nd day of
July, 1906.
The result of the aforesaid poll having been ascertained, I
hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for and
against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 142;
against the proposal, 22.
And I hereby declare that, in view of the total number of
valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more
than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded
at the poll, the resolution in favour of such proposal was
carried.

Loan Proposal.
In the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,"
and its amendments, "The Counties Act, 1886," and its
amendments, "The Rating Act, 1894," and its amend-
ments, and "The Local Elections Act, 1904."
I HEREBY give notice that on the 23rd day of June, 1906,
a proposal was submitted by the Whangarei County
Council to the ratepayers and electors of the Manga-
pai Riding Special-rating District, as defined in loan pro-
posal published in the newspaper Northern Advocate of the
4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th May, 1906, for raising a special
loan of £4,000 for the purpose of metalling the main county
roads in the said special-rating district, and that the number
of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal
was as follows: For, 68; against, 17; informal, 1.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
