A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of "The Land Act, 1892," and its
amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent
of the owner and of the mortgagees of the land mentioned
in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Hawera County
Council, being the local authority in whose district the said
land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Hawera
Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto;
and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid,
proclaim as closed the road described in the Second
Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the
road first hereinbefore proclaimed.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of May, 1906.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
for the purpose of a road in Te Rape Block No. 1648,
Block V, Alexandra Survey District:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the
said land, as required by the eighty-ninth section of "The
Public Works Act, 1905":

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act,
and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this
behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare
that the land shown upon such map, and described in the
Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said road, and the said land shall vest in His
Majesty the King, as from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Notice of Intention to exchange a Reserve in the Auckland
Land District for other Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any
reserve made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or
presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other
purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
or more purposes named in the said Class II, the Governor
may, by notice gazetted, make such change, exchange, or
dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare
