Claim.—The making of a small hole or opening through one side of the plugs used in cocks so as to form a passage for the escape of water from the central cavity of such plugs when the cocks are shut.

No. 21086.—4th May, 1906.—DONALD MCKENZIE, of Invercargill, New Zealand, Flax-miller. An improved method of attaching tags or brands to bales of flax and the like.
Claim.—The improved method of attaching brands or tags to bales of flax and the like, consisting in the employment of two or more tags or plates, each being impressed with similar marks and connected together by wire or the like, such tags or plates being attached to the bales during the process of baling in such a manner that one of them shall be closed within the centre of the bale, while the remainder are upon the outside thereof.
