NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the New Zealand Hollow Concrete Building Block Company (Limited) held at the registered office on the 20th March, 1906, the following special resolution was carried: “That the New Zealand Hollow Concrete Building Block Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily; and that Messrs. F. J. GRACE and A. S. BISS be appointed Liquidators.” The above resolution was confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting held on the 11th April, 1906.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897,” “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899,” and “The Public Works Act, 1905.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of Willis Street, in the said city—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk, Wellington.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Motor Registration Act, 1905.”

THE Council of the Borough of Timaru hereby gives public notice that at a meeting held on the 9th day of April, 1906, the said Council resolved that “The Motor Registration Act, 1905,” should be brought into operation in the Borough of Timaru on the 13th day of May, 1906.

In the matter of a Bill entitled “An Act to amend and extend the Powers given to the Church Property Trustees by ‘The Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act, 1879.’”

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to private Bills, that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at its next session, on behalf of the Church Property Trustees, for leave to introduce a Bill to be called “The Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 Amendment Act, 1906.” The objects of the said proposed Bill are to amend and extend the powers given by section 25 of “The Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act, 1879,” so as to give greater freedom and elasticity in the administration of local endowments, and the moneys received therefrom; and to amend and extend the powers of leasing given to the Church Property Trustees, with a view to giving greater inducements to tenants to make improvements. A copy of the said proposed Bill will be deposited at the Examiner’s Office, Wellington, on or before the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six.

UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, John Harry Waigth, of Roxburgh, Fruit-grower, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 2nd April, 1906; No. 57918.

Address for service: Care of Robert Cockburn, Mining Agent, Roxburgh.

Dated at Roxburgh, this 3rd day of April, 1906.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Block I, Benger Survey District, commencing at the west side of the main road in Donaldson’s Creek, near Dumbarton Rock; thence in a northerly direction about 4 chains along the west side of the main road; thence across the said road; thence along the west side of Section 26, 10 chains, and terminating at Section 43, Block I, Benger Survey District.

Length and intended course of race: Sixteen chains; northerly.

Points of intake: One at head of race.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Six months; £40.

Mean depth and breadth: 6 in. piping 1 ft. below the surface of the ground.

Number of heads to be diverted: One head.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic and irrigation purposes.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
