Regulations for Deer-shooting, Waitaki.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth day of March, 1906.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. HALL-JONES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same (hereinafter called “the said Acts”), His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the following regulations respecting the deer-shooting season within the Waitaki and Waimate Acclimatisation District.

REGULATIONS.
- LICENSES to shoot and kill red deer (stags only) in the Waitaki and Waimate Acclimatisation District will be issued under the hand of the Chief Postmaster at Oamaru, on the recommendation of the secretary of the Waitaki Branch of the Waitaki and Waimate Acclimatisation Society, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Acts and these regulations. For every such license to kill red deer a fee of £3 sterling will be charged; and no holder of any such license as aforesaid shall kill more than four stags under or by virtue of such license, and no stag with less than eight points shall be killed.
An additional license to kill red deer may be issued to any person at a fee of £5, and no holder of such additional license shall kill more than four stags under or by virtue of such license, and no stag with less than eight points shall be killed.
The said Chief Postmaster is hereby appointed and authorised to issue and sign the said licenses.

Every such license shall entitle the person named therein to kill red deer (stags only), as provided in Regulation No. 1 of these regulations, from the 2nd April, 1906, to the 31st May, 1906. Ball cartridge only to be used.

No hind or fawn will be allowed to be killed on any pretext whatever; and no dogs will be allowed to accompany either the licensee or any attendant he may have with him.

The licensee must give notice to the said Chief Postmaster of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorising any person to sell any deer, or portion thereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby declare that, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, the areas described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Foxton, and that the area and boundaries of that borough shall, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, be those described in the Second Schedule hereto; and, further, that the areas described in the First Schedule, and so excluded as aforesaid from the Borough of Foxton, shall, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, be included in the County of Manawatu.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF AREAS TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF FOXTON AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF MANAWATU.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Foxton, bounded towards the north generally by the southern side of Purcell Street from where the southern side of that street leaves the Manawatu River to its junction with Nye Street; thence towards the east by the eastern side of the said Nye Street to the junction of that street with Union Street; thence again towards the north by the southern side of Union Street to its junction with the road known as No. 6 line; thence again towards the west by the said No. 6 line to the northernmost corner of Section No. 463, Block VI, Mount Robinson Survey District; thence towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Foxton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the 19th April, 1888, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 451, Block VI aforesaid; thence towards the east generally by the eastern boundary of the said Borough of Foxton to the Manawatu River; and thence towards the south-west and west generally by the said Manawatu River to the place of commencement.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Foxton, bounded towards the north-east by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 468, Block I, Mount Robinson Survey District, from a point distant westerly 50 chains from the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 468 to the north-western corner of Section No. 467; thence towards the south-east by the last-mentioned section, and the production of the western boundary-line of the said Section No. 467 to the Manawatu River; thence by the right bank of the said Manawatu River to a point due south of the place of commencement; and thence towards the west by a right line to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF AMENDED BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF FOXTON.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north generally by the south-western side of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 476, Block I, Mount Robinson Survey District, from the north-eastern corner of Section No. 468 to a point in a line with the eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 476; thence by a right line across a road to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by that section and Section No. 410 to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 537; thence by the western side of the last-mentioned road and of the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 466 to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 465, Block V, Mount Robinson Survey District; thence by a right line across the said road to the south-western corner of the said Section No. 465; thence by the last-mentioned section, the crossing of a road, and Section No. 464, Block V, aforesaid, to the road forming the western boundary of Section No. 370, Town of Foxton; thence by a right line across the last-mentioned road to the northernmost corner of the said Section No. 370; thence by the southern side of the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 370, 369, 368, 367, 366, 365, 364, and 363, Town of Foxton, to the road known as No. 6 line, which forms the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 363, 362, 344, 343, 371, and 372, Town of Foxton; thence towards the east by the western side of the said No. 6 line to the southern side of Union Street; thence towards the south by the said southern side of Union Street to its junction with Nye Street; thence towards the east by the eastern side of Nye Street to its junction with Purcell Street; thence again towards the south by the southern side of Purcell Street to the Manawatu River; thence towards the west generally by the right bank of the Manawatu River to the eastern boundary-line of Awahou No. 3 Native Block, and thence by the said Awahou No. 3 Block and Section No. 468 to the north-east corner of the last-mentioned section, the place of commencement.
