NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of "The Friendly Societies Act, 1882," by writing under his hand dated this 27th day of February, 1906, cancelled the registry of "The Wellington Branch, No. 1, of the Australian Natives' Association," Register No. 320, on the ground that the said association has ceased to exist.

IN accordance with section 26 of "The Education Act, 1904," it is hereby publicly notified that
ANDREW BAIN, Esq., of Georgetown,
has been duly elected a member of the Education Board of the District of Southland, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the late Mr. George McLeod, M.A., of Spar Bush.
The number of valid votes recorded for each candidate was as follows:—

The total number of valid votes recorded was 676.
The total number of voting-papers (inclusive of 10 received too late, in terms of section 21 of the said Act) rejected as informal was 36.

All steep, broken country; inferior soil; covered with bush, mostly birch. Fire has been through the Crown portion of the spurs, which are now covered with fern, with a little grass and blackberry. About seventeen miles from Blenheim, and about two miles from main road from Blenheim to Picton.
