gas buoy and signalling-vessel, and at a moderate speed, so
as not to interfere with the pile-driving operations.
A red square flag will be hoisted to indicate that pile-
driving operations are in progress, and that care is neces-
sary in connection with the navigation of vessels passing.
During the course of the erection of the pile lighthouse
a white light will be exhibited by night from a mast on the
easterly portion of the structure to indicate its position.

Notice to Mariners No. 19 of 1906.

AKAROA LIGHT, SOUTH-EAST EXTREMITY OF BANKS PENINSULA.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 28th February, 1906.

NOTICE is hereby given that repairs are about to be
effected to the light situated on Akaroa Head, south-
east extremity of Banks Peninsula, and that to enable
them to be carried out the flashing light will be discon-
tinued from or about the night of the 28th March, 1906, for
a period of about fourteen days, but a further notice giving
exact date will be issued later on. During the discon-
tinuance of the flashing light a fixed white light will be
exhibited, visible about twenty-three miles from a vessel’s
deck in clear weather.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.

THE unclaimed property described hereunder, and now
in possession of the police at the stations named, will,
unless previously claimed, be sold by public auction, at the
respective police-offices, on Saturday, the 24th March
proximo, at noon, in accordance with the police regula-
tions:—
AUCKLAND.—Gold bracelet, revolver, two umbrellas, and
sundries.
NAPIER.—Rolled-gold watch and sundries.

WANGANUI.—Gold bangle, ring, scarf-pin, twelve metal
watch-chains, revolver, greenstone brooch, two bicycles, and
sundries.
WELLINGTON.—Two gold tie-pins, gold pin and pendant,
Swiss watch (No. 184392) and silver chain, five bicycles, gold
brooch, gold bangle and padlock, rolled-gold necklet, and
sundries.
CHRISTCHURCH.—Fifteen bicycles, gold brooch, revolver,
metal watch and chain, ladies’ gold ring, gold-mounted braid
watch-guard with greenstone pendant, ladies’ silver watch,
gold band ring, scarf-pin and greenstone heart, two gold
brooches, two Waterbury watches, silver watch, and sun-
dries.
DUNEDIN.—Silver lever watch (No. 9543), gold brooch (ruby
in centre), revolver, silver watch-chain with Kruger shilling
attached, ladies’ gold ring, and sundries.
INVERCARGILL.—Silver brooch, three fur boas, rolled-gold
bangle, rolled-gold watch and chain, and sundries.

1905, to 28th February, 1906, the time when the new crop will be available, it will be seen that the wheat on hand in
excess of requirements on 1st March, 1906 (not including this season’s crop), will be, approximately, 1,140,553 bushels.
The exports and imports for the four months are not taken into account.
