The said land may be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on lease in perpetuity: provided that in the case of land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, it shall be selected on lease in perpetuity only and shall not be purchased for cash.

For the purposes of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” the land described in the said Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said land for a period of four years from the date from which in each case respectively such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during such period.

After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded: provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Comprises broken land, covered with mixed forest, containing tawa, rimu, rata, pukatea, mahoe, and hinau, with a little totara, and dense undergrowth of kiekie and supplejack; soil an alluvial clay, light but of good quality, mixed with vegetable humus, resting on papa-and-sandstone formation; well watered. About twenty-two miles from Awakino.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-six of “The Land Act, 1892,” and section two of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on and after the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, at the respective prices specified in the said Schedule.

Comprises broken land, covered with mixed forest, containing taraire, towai, cedar, manuka, with some puriri, and a light undergrowth of supplejack and scrub. Soil a mixed loam and clay of good quality, resting on sandstone formation; well adapted for pastoral purposes. Well watered. Situated about twelve miles from Kaihu Railway-station and two miles from Katui School.

Altitude, from 100 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Broken country, covered with mixed forest, comprising rata, puriri, tawa, towai, kohe, and pukatea. Good soil, resting on clay subsoil. Watered by small stream. Situated about eighteen miles from Morrinsville and about twenty-two miles from Ohinewai Railway-station.
