NOTE.—The rain in the early part of the month was very
welcome, and the weather afterwards mostly agreeable.
Bright sunshine amounted to 220 hours 21 minutes, and
two days were without recorded sunshine. The average
cloudiness at 9 a.m. was 6·2. The mean relative humidity
was 73 per cent.; mean dew point, 47·2°; and the mean elastic
force of vapour, ·325 in. The mean temperatures of the earth
were at 1 ft. depth 57·4°, and at 3 ft. 57°.
