Riccarton District comprises West Eyreton Riding of Ashley County, together with the south-eastern portion of Oxford Riding bounded on the west by the western boundary of Rural Section No. 27754 and the road west of Burnt Hill from the northern corner of the said section to the Main Race Road ; thence by Main Race Road to Burnt Hill Road, by Burnt Hill Road to South Eyre Road, by South Eyre Road to its junction with Domain Road ; thence by the road running north to the Town of Oxford, by the eastern boundary of the said Town of Oxford to the Oxford-Rangiora Railway, and by the said railway to the boundary of the Oxford Riding ; and also the western portion of Eyreton Riding not included in the Kaiapoi District, also that portion of Courtenay Riding of Selwyn County lying to the west of the Selwyn-Waimakariri Road to Bealey’s Road, by Bealey’s Road to Strange’s Road, by Strange’s Road to Hawkins and Burnham Road, by Hawkins and Burnham Road to the road forming the western boundaries of Sections 27988 and 30432, and by that road to the Wakaepa River, the western portion of Riccarton Riding bounded towards the east by Hagley Park and the City of Christchurch to Wairarapa Road, by Wairarapa Road to Fendalton and Sawyer’s Arms Junction Road ; thence by that road to Fendalton Road, by the said Fendalton Road to Kaiapoi Junction Road, by the said Kaiapoi Junction Road to Coringa Road ; thence by the said Coringa Road and the road intersecting Section No. 6113 and its continuation north-easterly to Fleshborn Road, and thence by that road to the Waimakariri River, less that portion lying south-west of the Harewood-Hampton Road and the railway-line, together with that portion of Halswell Riding bounded towards the north by Burke’s Bush North Road from the western boundary of the said riding to the Mount Herbert County ; thence by the said county boundary to the southern corner of Rural Section No. 452 ; thence by the road running north to Cashmere ; thence by the south-eastern boundary of Spreydon Road District to Barrington Road ; thence by the said Barrington Road to Stark’s Road ; thence by Stark’s Road to the City of Christchurch ; thence by that city and the northern and western boundaries of the Halswell Riding, and also the northern portion of the Lincoln Road District of Selwyn County bounded on the south by Leadley’s Road from the Halswell Road to the railway-line ; thence northward by the railway-line to Hampton’s Road, by Hampton’s Road to the boundary of the said Lincoln Road District.

LYTTELTON.

Lyttelton District comprises the existing Lyttelton Electorate, less that portion of the Spreydon Road District lying north-west of Stark’s Road ; also the southern portion of the Linwood Ward of the City of Christchurch, bounded by Wilson’s Road from the railway-line to Charles Street, thence by Charles Street to Grafton Street, thence by Grafton Street to Ferry Road, and thence by Ferry Road to Ensor’s Road, and also the whole of Mount Herbert County.

ELLESMERE.

Ellesmere District comprises the Akaroa County, together with the southern portions of the Lincoln and Halswell Ridings not included in Riccarton District, together with the whole of Ellesmere Riding of Selwyn County, and also the Borough of Akaroa.

SELWYN.

Selwyn District comprises the Coleridge and Malvern Ridings of Selwyn County, and that portion of Courtenay Riding not included in Riccarton District, together with the south-western portion of Oxford Riding of Ashley County bounded towards the north by Hurunui District and towards the east by Riccarton District, including the Towns of East Oxford and West Oxford, and also the Mount Somers, Mount Hutt, and South Rakaia Ridings of Ashburton County ; and also Wakanui Riding less the Town District of Hampstead and less that portion lying west of Wakanui Road ; also the north-western portion of Upper Ashburton Riding lying north of Sections Nos. 24665 and 21039 and the eastern portion of the said Upper Ashburton Riding lying eastward of the Dromore Road.

ASHBURTON.

Ashburton District comprises the Ashburton Riding of Ashburton County and the Upper Ashburton Riding less those portions included in the Selwyn District, together with the Town District of Hampstead and that portion of the Wakanui Riding lying west of Wakanui Road, and also the eastern portions of the Temuka and Raukapuka Ridings bounded towards the north-east by Rangitata River, towards the south-east by the sea, towards the west by the Orari River

from the sea to Section No. 8825 ; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 8825, 7211, 3606, 7181, and 8847 to the railway-line ; thence by the railway-line to the southern boundary of the Raukapuka Riding ; thence by the said southern boundary to the Hae Hae te Moana River ; thence by the Hae Hae te Moana River to Macdonald’s Road, by Macdonald’s Road to Turton’s Road, by Turton’s Road to Kempster’s Road, by Kempster’s Road to Pithie’s Road ; thence by Pithie’s Road to the northern boundary of the Raukapuka Riding, and thence by the said northern boundary to the Rangitata River ; and also the Boroughs of Ashburton and Geraldine.

TIMARU.

Timaru District comprises the Ridings of Seadown, Waimataiti, Gleniti, and Otipua of Levels County, together with the eastern part of Claremont Riding lying eastward of Brockley Road, and also the Borough of Timaru.

TEMUKA.

Temuka District comprises the Mackenzie County, that portion of Geraldine County not included in the Selwyn District, and that part of Levels County not included in Timaru District, together with the Upper Pareora, Lower Pareora, Otaia, and Makikihi Ridings of Waimate County, and also the northern portion of the North Waihao Riding lying northward of the northern boundary of Rural Section No. 29778, and the road running westward from the north-western corner of that section to the Hakataramea River, and also the northern portion of Hakataramea Riding lying north of a line along the stream intersecting Section No. 29450 from the Hakataramea River to the Main Road ; thence along the Main Road to the northern boundary of Section No. 29359 ; thence by the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 29359, 29356, and 33019, by the southern boundary of Section No. 33199 and a right line to Trig. Station N ; thence westward by the main watershed to the Waitaki River at the confluence of that river with the Ahuriri River ; also including the Borough of Temuka.

OAMARU.

Oamaru District comprises the Dunback, Blue Mountain, Meadowbank, and Bushy Ridings of Waihemo County, together with the Moeraki, Otepopo, and Kakanui Ridings of Waitaki County, the south-eastern portion of Waireka Riding bounded by the western boundaries of Western Park and the Ardgowan Settlement and part of the northern boundary of the said Ardgowan Settlement, and also the southern portion of Papakaio Riding bounded on the north by the northern boundary of Blocks I and II, Oamaru Survey District, to London Creek, by London Creek to Section 125, and thence by Sections 125, 126, to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and Section 156 to the Main Road, by the Main Road to the road north of Section 141, and thence by that road running easterly to the sea. The Borough of Palmerston is included in this district.

WAITAKI.

Waitaki District comprises that portion of Waimate County not included in the Temuka District, together with the Ahuriri, Otekaike, Awamoko, and Incholeme Ridings of Waitaki County, and also those portions of Waireka and Papakaio Ridings not included in the Oamaru District. The Borough of Waimate is also included in this district.

MOUNT IDA.

Mount Ida District comprises the Boroughs of Naseby, Roxburgh, and Alexandra, the whole of the Maniototo County less that part of the Hyde Riding south of the Cap Burn, together with the Green Valley and Macrae’s Ridings of Waihemo County, the Matakanui, Manuherikia, Dunstan, and Earnscleugh Ridings of Vincent County, the Teviot, Beaumont, and James Ridings of Tuapeka County, the portion of Tapanui Riding of Tuapeka County lying north of the road running south-easterly from the southern boundary of the Township of Kelso and thence easterly to the boundary of the said Tapanui Riding, and also the northern portion of Glenkenich Riding of Clutha County lying north of Blocks I and II, Glenkenich Survey District, and along the road running north-easterly from Block II to the Pomahaka River ; also including the Township of Kelso, and also that part of Gabriel’s Riding of Tuapeka County lying north of Gardener’s Track.

CHALMERS.

Chalmers District comprises the whole of the Waikouaiti and Peninsula Counties, together with the Goodwood Riding of Waihemo County, the Boroughs of Hawksbury, Port Chalmers, and West Harbour, and the northern portion of the Borough of North-east Valley lying north-east of the Pine
