Lands in Matamata Settlement, Auckland Land District, open
for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at
this office, on Thursday, the 27th day of December, 1906,
under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.
If more than one application is received for the same section on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided by ballot.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—PIAKO COUNTY.—MATAMATA SETTLEMENT.

DAIRY FARM.

Tapapa Survey District.

Agricultural and pastoral land of light loamy nature, with even surface. Nearly all ploughable, and practically all in grass; well watered by Waitoa Stream. Situated about a mile and a half from Matamata Railway-station. Elevation, about 210 ft. above sea-level. The improvements which are included in the price of the land consist of about 19 chains of fencing on road-boundary and about 20 chains of subdivisional fencing, valued at £19 10s.; also half-share in about 156 chains of fencing on northern and southern boundaries, valued at £39: total value, £58 10s. The improvements which are not included in the price of the land, and which must be paid for by the incoming tenant, consist of lean-to, 10 acres of scrub-clearing, and 22 chains of new fencing, valued at £36.

NOTE.—Tenant must keep the Waitoa Stream clear of all timber and vegetation where it bounds his section. He must also keep open all drains at present on the section.

Level agricultural and pastoral land, in manuka and scrub; rather inferior light loamy soil, practically all ploughable. Elevation, about 200 ft. above sea-level. Situated about six miles and three-quarters from Matamata Railway-station. The improvements, which are included in the price of the land, consist of half-share in about 128 chains of fencing on southern boundary, valued at £32.

Tapapa Survey District.

Pastoral land of inferior sandy-clay nature; mostly ploughable; varies from undulating to slightly broken. Altitude, about 350 ft. above sea-level. About 100 acres in Chewing’s fescue, balance in manuka and scrub. There is rough feed through the manuka. The section has a permanent supply of water. The improvements, which are included in the price of the section, consist of about 80 chains of subdivisional fencing, valued at £40. Situated about six miles from Hinuera Railway-station.

will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at
this office, on Wednesday, the 19th day of December, 1906,
under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.

This section comprises mostly pastoral land fronting Dry River, and varying in altitude from 300 ft. to 800 ft. There are about 25 acres of stony flat land between Dry River Road and Dry River, and about 10 acres of flat land to the east of Dry River Road, the remainder consisting of easy slopes of native grass on clay soil, with fern and light manuka in the gullies. The flat land and tops of the spurs are ploughable. Watered by Dry River and by a branch of Kelly’s Creek, which also supplies permanent water. Access to this section is from Martinborough, about six miles and a half distant—by four miles metalled coach-road, another mile and a half unformed surveyed road practicable for wheel traffic, and the remainder unformed surveyed road. There is a school-site near the junction of the Dry River Road with the Main Road, about two miles and a half distant. The improvements (which are included in the price of the land) comprise half value of about 142 chains of boundary-fences and whole value of 69 chains of interior-fences, and sheep-yards, the whole valued at £80

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land
will be offered for sale by public auction, at the District Lands Office, Nelson, on Wednesday, the 19th day of December, 1906, under the provisions of section 118 of “The Land Act, 1892.”
