Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act; the value of the land for the purposes of section 5 of the said Act being less than £100.

Extension of Maximum of Deposit with Post-Office Savings-Bank on which Interest is to be paid.

IN virtue of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2, (1), of “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” I hereby give notice that I have determined that on and after the 1st day of January, 1907, interest will be allowed on every complete pound deposited in the Post-Office Savings-Bank at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum on sums not exceeding £300, and 3 per centum per annum on any balance over £300: Provided that no interest shall be allowed on sums over £600, subject to the proviso to the aforesaid section.

Tenders for Parcel-post Hampers, &c.

TENDERS will be received at the General Post Office, Wellington, until Wednesday, 19th December, for the supply of such parcel-post hampers and baskets as may be required for a period of three years from the 1st January, 1907, to the 31st December, 1909.

Orders for hampers and baskets will be given for lots of about fifty at one time, and the successful contractor must be prepared to make delivery of such lots at the rate of six hampers and twenty baskets a week.

Samples may be seen at the chief post-offices throughout the colony.

Tenders to be addressed to “The Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, General Post Office, Wellington.”

Tenders to be accompanied by a completed sample of each of the four sizes of hampers in use, and of the basket and bottle-basket for mail-bags. In the case of unsuccessful tenderers the samples will be purchased, provided they are considered fair and useful specimens by the officer appointed to examine samples and the prices reasonable as compared with others.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
