NEW ZEALAND VARNISH AND PAINT MANU- FACTURING COMPANY (LIMITED), THAMES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following extraordinary resolutions were duly passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the New Zealand Varnish and Paint Manufacturing Company (Limited), duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, Pollen Street, Thames, on Tuesday, the 20th day of November, 1906, at 1.30 p.m., viz.:

  1. That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.

  2. That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that FREDERICK CLARENCE DEAN and EDWIN JOHN RENSHAW be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.

The above resolutions are intended to take effect under subsection (c) of section 220 of “The Companies Act, 1903.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this 29th day of November, 1906, cancelled the registry of the Otaki Lodge, a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

RE MARY ANNIE EDGAR, deceased.—To all whom it may concern.—Notice is hereby given that the Trustees of the will of Miss Mary Annie Edgar, late of St. Albans, School-teacher, deceased, will on or after the 31st day of December, 1906, pay over and divide the balance of the funds of the above trust then in their hands equally between and amongst the following persons, as the six only children of the late Mrs. Annie Hall (formerly Edgar), mother of the said deceased—namely, (1) William Tinney Edgar, of Christchurch, Accountant; (2) Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Thornton, of Dunedin, Widow; (3) Charles Henry Edgar, of Christchurch, Engraver; (4) John Edgar Hall, of Masterton, Borough Employee; (5) Thomas Edgar Hall, of Christchurch, Piano-tuner; and (6) Miss Annie Hall, of St. Albans, Teacher—unless within twenty-eight days from this date good cause be shown to the contrary in writing to me in the above behalf. NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between JOHN GORDON BAIN and JOHN JAMES BERRY, carrying on business as Butchers and Bakers at St. Andrew’s, under the style or firm of “Bain and Berry,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the date hereof.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by John James Berry, who will continue to carry on the said business in his own name.

A SPECIAL Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette is now published fortnightly, containing all notices concerning patents and trade-marks required by law to be gazetted; also, particulars of lapsed applications for patents, expired letters patent, and other information useful to inventors, manufacturers, and others. The Supplement will be issued free to subscribers to the Gazette, and to others on payment of a subscription of ten shillings per annum, payable in advance to the Government Printer.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The best age for entrance is between six and seven.

The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free. Parents having dumb children between the ages of four and seven, and other persons desiring information with regard to the school, are invited to apply to
