PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR STREET-WIDENING PURPOSES IN THE CITY OF DUNEDIN.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and its Amendments; and in the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Dunedin proposes, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and the amendments thereof, to take, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, the lands mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of widening King Edward Street (formerly known as Hillside Road), in the City of Dunedin. And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the lands required to be taken, together with the names of the owner and occupiers of such lands, so far as they can be ascertained, is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, situate in the Octagon, in the said city, and is open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk, at the offices of such Council, situate in the Octagon aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those pieces or parcels of land described hereunder:—
Approximate area of parcel of land required to be taken: 6·4 poles.
Description: Part of Allotments 3 and 4, Block X.
Where situated: Extension of South Dunedin.
Shown on plan numbered “J.”
Coloured on plan “Red.”

All that piece of land in the Provincial District of Otago, being part of Allotments Three (3) and Four (4), Block Ten (X.), South Dunedin Extension, containing by admeasurement six poles and four-tenths (6·4) of a pole (more or less), commencing at the south corner of Allotment Four (4): bounded on the south-west by Hillside Road, 329° 30′ 30″, one hundred (100) links; on the north-west by Allotment Two (2), 59° 30′ 30″, forty (40) links; on the north-east by other parts of Allotments Three (3) and Four (4), 149° 30′ 30″, one hundred (100) links; and on the south-east by Allotment Five (5), 239° 30′ 30″, forty (40) links, to starting point.

RE KAITUNA STEAMSHIP COMPANY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto carried on by ROBERT JOHN BURLTON-BENNETT, of Auckland; HENRY SYDNEY BILBY, of Auckland; and JAMES ROBERTSON KENNEDY, of Auckland, under the style or firm of “The Kaituna Steamship Company,” has been this day dissolved, the said James Robertson Kennedy having no further connection with the said firm in any way whatever.

NOTICE is hereby given (1) that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned RACHEL LAW CHURCH and JEANNIE MACFARLANE SUTHERLAND, practising as Hospital Nurses at “The Chalet,” High Street, Dunedin, under the style or firm of “The Chalet Private Hospital,” has been dissolved by mutual consent from the 3rd day of November, 1905; (2) that the said practice will be carried on at the said address, under the style or firm of “The Chalet Private Hospital,” by the said JEANNIE MACFARLANE SUTHERLAND, who will pay and discharge all debts and liabilities of the said late firm and receive all moneys due thereto.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between HARRY PRIME and WILLIAM GOODFELLOW, lately carrying on business at Onehunga, has been dissolved by mutual consent. The said Harry Prime will pay and receive all debts owing by or to the Onehunga business, and the said William Goodfellow will pay and receive all debts owing by or to the Hamilton business. The business at Onehunga will be carried on as heretofore by the said HARRY PRIME.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The best age for entrance is between six and seven.

The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
