Major HORACE DOSSETT ECCLES, No. 3 Battalion, Auckland Mounted Rifle Volunteers; and

Captain (Adjutant) THOMAS WHITE SOMMERVILLE, 2nd Battalion, Auckland (Hauraki) Infantry Volunteers,

as additional members of the Auckland Local Board of Military Examination, and with effect from the 28th July, 1905.

Appointment of Trustees, Waihi Rifle Range Reserve.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve, under “The Defence Act, 1886,” “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1900,” and regulations thereunder, of the appointment of

Brevet-Colonel RICHARD HUTTON DAVIES, C.B., New Zealand Militia, Officer Commanding Auckland District;

Lieutenant-Colonel EDMUND WILLIAM PORRITT, 2nd Battalion, Auckland (Hauraki) Infantry Volunteers; and

Major ARTHUR TOM KENRICK, 2nd Battalion, Auckland (Hauraki) Infantry Volunteers,

as Trustees of the Waihi Rifle Range Reserve, being all that parcel of land in the Auckland District, containing by admeasurement 17 acres 2 roods 17 perches, more or less, situate in Block XVI., Ohinemuri Survey District, and being portions of Favona and Brilliant Claims and part Crown land, commencing at a point on the south-east side of the Mataura Road, distant 4722·5 links in a south-west direction from the Oldfield Road Bridge (over the Ohinemuri River). Bounded towards the north-west by a line, 3974·4 links; towards the north-east by a line, 500 links; towards the south-east by a line, 4886·6 links; and again towards the north-west by Mataura Road, 956·5 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

as Trustees of the Eltham Rifle Range Reserve, being portion of Sections Nos. 29, 30, 31, and 32, Borough of Eltham, containing together 16 acres 2 roods 23·5 perches, more or less, Block X., Ngaire Survey District, in the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 20730, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

THE following special order, made by the Wellington City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a duly convened special meeting of the Wellington City Council held at the Town Hall on the 5th day of July, 1905, the following resolution (intended to operate as a special order) was duly passed, and that at a duly convened ordinary meeting of the Council held on Thursday, the 10th day of August, 1905, was duly confirmed, which resolution is as follows:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, to be expended in extinguishing overdrafts, and for meeting additional expenditure already incurred and falling due, and in final settlement of all accounts in connection with wood-paving, erection of Town Hall and organ therein, and the installation of electric tramways, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies (by special order) a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in that portion of the city hitherto known as the Wellington Ward, the boundaries of which are set forth in the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-four years computed from the 1st day of May, 1905, or until the loan is fully paid off.


Schedule.

The boundaries commence at a point where the north-eastern boundary of the land forming part of the Harbour of Port Nicholson, and granted by deed of grant dated the 18th day of October, 1855, to the Superintendent
