28 APPEAL AUTHORISED UNDER SECTION 62 OF “THE NATIVE LAND LAWS AMENDMENT ACT, 1895.”

WHEREAS, by Order in Council dated the 15th day of October, 1900, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, did empower the Native Appellate Court to deal with an application made by Hakopa Tipaata, under section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” as an appeal, under the provisions of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” from the orders of the Court hereinafter specified, that is to say,—

The three several orders of the Court, dated the 13th day of March, 1900, appointing Katerina te Reo to succeed to the interest of Mere Katene Tipaata, deceased, in Akuaku East, Tawhiti No. 2, and Ohineakai No. 2 Blocks :

Now, therefore, notice is hereby given that the said matters will be heard and determined by the Native Appellate Court sitting at Gisborne on the 28th day of September, 1905 (3–2).


Applications for Confirmation Certificates under Section 55.

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made to a Judge of the Court for certificates under section 55 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” confirming the alienations hereunder specified. All objections to the granting of such certificates must be lodged with me within fourteen days from the publication of this notice.
