Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
No. 18411.—6th September, 1904.—CHRISTIANA STRINGFELLOW, of Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand, Domestic Duties. Improved device for drawing buttons through button-holes.
Claim.—A device for the purpose indicated, comprising a loop having a comparatively large opening through which a button may be passed, and a channel to receive the shank of said button, and an integrally formed handle comprising an elliptical ring fitted with a plate having grooves to receive the wire, to which it is secured by soldering, the said plate being adapted to be stamped or embossed with a name or the like, substantially as specified and illustrated.

Claim.—For the purpose indicated, in combination, a long inclined hopper receiving the material to be treated, and superposed inclined tables arranged beneath said hopper in relation to each other, substantially as specified and as illustrated in the drawing.

Claims.—(1.) In a lever jack of the kind described, a removable extension-rod suitably guided, and adapted to be raised on the foot of the casing, substantially as set forth and illustrated. (2.) In a lever jack of the kind described, a removable extension-rod adapted to pass through a guide on the upper end of the rack, and rest at the lower end in a socket on the foot, substantially as set forth. (3.) In a lever jack of the kind described, a vertically sliding casing having three or more rests arranged at different levels and on different sides, substantially as set forth.

No. 18456. — 16th September, 1904. — CHRISTCHURCH MEAT COMPANY, LIMITED, whose registered office is 150, Hereford Street, Christchurch, New Zealand (assignees of Gilbert Anderson, of Christchurch aforesaid, Managing Director). Improved apparatus for securing the tops or covers of preserving-tins and the like.*
Claims.—(1.) An improved apparatus for securing the tops or covers of preserving-tins and the like, consisting of the parts combined, arranged, and operating substantially as specified and illustrated. (2.) Apparatus for the purpose indicated characterized by having a series of trays arranged within a retort, and upon which the vessels to be sealed are placed, and a corresponding series of rails above said vessels, said rails being capable of vertical movement, with means for operating said rails from outside the retort whereby covers are secured upon the said vessels, substantially as specified and illustrated. (3.) Apparatus for the purpose indicated, a retort, frames one at each end thereof, a spindle projecting through a stuffing-box upon the retort, each of said spindles being screwed and passing through a screw-threaded bevel-wheel, means for revolving said bevel-wheels, rails for connecting said frames within the retort, and trays beneath said rails, substantially as and for the purposes specified, and illustrated in the drawings.
