Rural Land in Southland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and five; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Quarantine Regulations revoked and amended.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and two, certain regulations relating to quarantine were made under “The Public Health Act, 1900”: And whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said Act, doth hereby amend the above-recited regulations as follows:

  1. Regulation sixteen is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in lieu thereof:—

  2. In the event of a ship from an infected port arriving in New Zealand waters, the passengers and crew to be inspected shall, if so ordered by the Health Officer, remove their clothes to facilitate the examination of the inguinal, axillary, and cervical glands.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Declaring Road-lines through Land in the Edendale Settlement to be closed.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the roads described in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that they intersect land acquired under “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and are not suitable for the subdivision of such land:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of section sixty-nine of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the roads hereinafter described, and I do hereby declare that they shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.
