Lands taken for Improvement of Insanitary Portions of the Borough of Blenheim.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of improvement of insanitary portions of the Borough of Blenheim, in pursuance of powers granted by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900”:

And whereas the Council of the Borough of Blenheim has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1894”:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of improvement of insanitary portions of the said borough, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Blenheim.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 1 rood 22 perches, more or less, situated in the Town of Blenheim, and being part of Section No. 1, Omaka, lying between Allotments 39, 40, 41, and Alfred Street, on the plan of the said town, on the northern side, and Allotments 36, 35, 34, and 33 on the plan of the said town on the southern side, in the Marlborough Land District: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on plan marked R. 6527, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple.

Also all that parcel of land, containing 2 roods 1 perch, more or less, situated in the said town, and being part of said Section No. 1, Omaka, lying along the western bank of the Omaka River, and situated between Alfred Street on the northern side and Symons Quay or High Street on the southern side, on the plan of the said town, in the Marlborough Land District: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on said plan marked R. 6527, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

Also all that parcel of land, containing 3 roods 34 perches, more or less, situated in the said town, being part of Section No. 1, Omaka, lying between Allotments 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and Wymen Street or Bradford Quay, on the plan of the said town, on the northern side, and Sections Nos. 4 and 7 on the said plan of the said town on the northern and eastern side, and Halifax Street and Allotments 8 to 14 (inclusive) on the said plan on the southern side, in the Marlborough Land District: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 6527A, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

Land in Block IX., Opihi Survey District, taken for the Purposes of Scenery-preservation.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” for the purposes of scenery-preservation:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of scenery-preservation as aforesaid.
