The foregoing resolution, containing amendments of the Southland County by-laws, and operating as a special order, was duly passed by the Council of the Southland County at a special meeting thereof duly called, and held at the County Council Chambers, in Clyde Street, Invercargill, on the 9th day of March, 1905, at 7 of the clock in the evening; and, after being amended, was duly confirmed by resolution duly passed at a special meeting of the said Council held at the place aforesaid on the 14th day of April, 1905; and the same was duly sealed on the 20th day of April, 1905, in the presence of—

“THE RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE ACT, 1896,” AND AMENDMENTS.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll taken on the 3rd day of May, on the proposal “That ‘The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,’ and amendments thereof, be adopted in the Awatere Road Board District, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof,” the following votes were recorded:—

In the matter of G. Lintott and Co. (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, in Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 10th day of May, 1905, the following resolution was duly passed: “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the same meeting THOMAS KEW HARTY, of Dunedin, Merchant, was appointed Liquidator of the said company for the purposes of its winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between the undersigned, carrying on business in New Plymouth, under the style or firm of “Carthew and Pattie,” Land Agents, has, from the 5th day of May instant, been dissolved by mutual consent. The business will in future be carried on by EDWARD JAMES CARTHEW, and he will receive all moneys due to and will pay all debts owing by the late firm.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership for some time past existing between the undersigned, under the name or style of “The Evans Bay Timber Company,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 11th May, 1905, and that the business will in future be carried on by CHARLES HENRY COMPTON and JAMES JOHN CLARK, under the style of “The Evans Bay Timber Company.” All the liabilities of the late partnership will be paid and discharged by the said Charles Henry Compton and James John Clark, and all debts due and owing to the late partnership are to be paid to the said Charles Henry Compton and James John Clark.

TAKE notice that a bankruptcy petition has been presented against you to this Court by Dalgety and Company (Limited), and the Court has ordered that the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette and in the Clutha Leader newspapers shall be deemed to be service of the petition upon you. And further take notice that a summons has been issued out of this Court calling upon you to appear before this Court on Friday, the 19th day of May, 1905, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, to show cause why you should not be adjudged a bankrupt, and that the said petition will be heard at this Court on the day and at the time above mentioned, on which day and at which time you are required to appear, and if you do not appear the Court may make an order of adjudication against you in your absence.

The petition can be inspected by you on application at this Court.
