Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing in all 1 rood 30 perches, being parts of Sections 13 and 14, Block 13, lying between Denbigh Street and the Mataura River, Town of Mataura, in the Provincial District of Otago, the balance of the said sections having been taken for railway purposes. The land is vested in John Convery, described as of Mataura, labourer, who never uplifted his title, and who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land containing 80 acres, more or less, being the southern portion of Allotment 112, Parish of Mangapai, in the Provincial District of Auckland. The land is registered in the name of John Roberts, described as of Auckland, master mariner, who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, being Allotment 461, Section 2, Town of Tauranga, in the Provincial District of Auckland, having a frontage to the west side of Cameron Road of 100 links by a depth of 250 links. The land was Crown-granted to Samuel Horsford, described as a corporal in the 1st Regiment of Waikato Militia, who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.—PERCY JOSEPH MARKS, Esq., of 92, Pitt Street, Sydney, New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by His Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 2nd section of “The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act, 1875,” for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Convening Meeting of Aotea District Maori Land Council under the Provisions of “The Maori Lands Administration Act, 1900.”

IT is hereby notified that a meeting of the Aotea District Maori Land Council will be held at Whanganui, on Wednesday, the 31st day of May, 1905, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, for the transaction of all such business as may be lawfully brought before it.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Pastoral Run in Otago Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 8th May, 1905.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run will be offered for lease by public auction at this office on Tuesday, the 13th day of June, 1905, for the term and at the upset annual rental stated, under the provisions of Part VI. of “The Land Act, 1892.”

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

RUNS Nos. 254, 254A, and 260 (grouped), Taieri and Maniototo Counties (Class I.) : Area, 76,020 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £400.

This run, known as Rocklands Station, and situated about twenty-five miles from Outram, on the old Dunstan Road, comprises high pastoral country, the elevation ranging from 1,500 ft. to 3,700 ft. About 16,000 acres of good lambing country lie between Deep Stream, Deep Creek, Sutton Creek, and the eastern boundary of the run. The higher lands, situated on the Lammerlaw Range, are mostly summer country.
