Every person who shall offend against any of the foregoing by-laws shall be liable for every such offence to a penalty not exceeding £5, and in the case of a continuing offence to a further penalty not exceeding £10 for each day during which such offence shall continue.

An engine engaged or used in heavy traffic shall be driven so that none of the wheels shall travel in ruts formed in any of the said roads by the wheels of the same or any other engine, and any person committing a breach of this by-law shall for every such offence be liable to a penalty of £1.

WHEREAS has made application for a license for the engine [vehicle, machine] hereinafter described to be used on the roads, bridges, ferries, and fords within the Wairau Road District, subject to the provisions of these by-laws, gazetted the day of , for the purposes in such application set out: And whereas the issue of such license has been duly authorised:
Now, therefore, I, by the authority and on behalf of the said Road Board of the said district, do hereby license the engine No. (to be numbered); horse-power, ; maker, ; weight of engine [vehicle, machine], —to be used on and over the roads, bridges, ferries, and fords of the said district for a period of one year from the date hereof and no longer, for the following purpose, that is to say, , subject to the said by-laws and to such other by-laws as may be in force from time to time within the said district.

Notice fixing Closing-hour of Shops on Saturdays in the Borough of Feilding.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Borough of Feilding (not being one of the districts mentioned in section 3 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904”) has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops except in the following trades in such borough shall be closed at 9 p.m. on Saturdays, excepting on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve: And whereas the Feilding Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I, Richard John Seddon, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, do hereby direct that from and after the 27th day of May, 1905, all shops, except those mentioned below, in the Borough of Feilding shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
Trades to be exempt.—Chemists, butchers, hairdressers and tobacconists, photographers, confectioners, oyster-saloon keepers, fruiterers, and jewellers.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers’, Clothiers’, and Grocers’ Shops in the Borough of Masterton.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’, clothiers’, and grocers’ shops in the Borough of Masterton (not being one of the districts mentioned in section 3 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904”), has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 6 o’clock in the evening on four working-days of the week until 8 o’clock in the morning on the next succeeding working-day, and at 10 o’clock in the evening on one day of the week until 8 o’clock in the morning of the next succeeding working-day: And whereas the Masterton Borough Council has certified that the signatures of such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’, clothiers’, and grocers’ shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I, Richard John Seddon, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of May, 1905, all the drapers’, clothiers’, and grocers’ shops in the Borough of Masterton shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
