New Electoral Districts in the North Island (Auckland
and Wellington).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the North Island Representation Commission, appointed under the provisions of “The
Electoral Act, 1902” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”),
have made their report to me under their hands and seals,
setting forth the names and boundaries of certain electoral
districts for the North Island, fixed by them in accordance
with the said Act and “The City Single Electorates Act,
1903”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority vested in me by the eleventh section of the
said Act and by “The City Single Electorates Act, 1903,”
I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the names and boundaries of the electoral districts for the North Island, so fixed
by the said Commission, to be those respectively mentioned
and set out in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.
Auckland West.
THIS district is bounded towards the north generally by
high-water mark of Waitemata Harbour from the Ponsonby
Wharf to Freeman’s Bay: thence towards the east generally
by the original high-water mark of Freeman’s Bay to a point
being the production of the middle of Union Street: thence
towards the east generally by a line along the middle of
Union Street to its junction with the middle of Napier
Street; thence by a line along the middle of Napier Street to
its junction with the middle of Hepburn Street; thence by a
line along the middle of Hepburn Street to its junction with
the middle of Ponsonby Road; thence by a line along the
middle of Ponsonby Road to its junction with the middle of
Crummer Road; thence by a line along the middle of Crummer Road to the intersection of the north-eastern side of
Pollen Street, Borough of Grey Lynn: thence towards the
south-west generally by the said Pollen Street to the north
side of Rose Road, in the Borough of Grey Lynn; thence by
the said Rose Road to the eastern side of McKelvie Street, in
the Borough of Grey Lynn; thence by the eastern side of the
said McKelvie Street to the south-western side of Ponsonby
Road; thence by the south-western side of the said Ponsonby
Road to its junction with Richmond Road; and thence by
the south side of Richmond Road to Cox’s Creek, and by the
north-eastern bank of that creek to the high-water mark of
Waitemata Harbour: thence towards the west generally by
high-water mark of Waitemata Harbour to the point of commencement.
This district also includes all wharves and extensions seawards, as the said district and boundaries are more particularly delineated upon the plan accompanying report.
Auckland East.
This district is bounded towards the north generally by
high-water mark of the Waitemata Harbour from a point
being the production of the middle of Queen Street to the
western boundary of the Parnell Electoral District: thence
towards the south-east generally by a line, 1500 links, to
the Strand; thence by the Strand, 50 links; thence to and
by Suburban Section No. 96; thence by a line to and thence
by the east side of Stanley Street to the Government Domain; thence by the Government Domain and the Hospital
Reserve to the road known as Park Road; thence by the
northern side of the said Park Road to a point in line with
the eastern boundary-line of Allotment No. 22 of Section
No. 3 of the Suburbs of Auckland; thence by a right line to
and by said boundary-line and its production to the south
side of Carlton Gore Road; thence by the south side of the
said road to the western boundary-line of subdivisional Lot
No. 37 of original Allotment No. 4 of Section No. 3 of the
Suburbs of Auckland; thence by Lot No. 37 aforesaid, and
by Lots Nos. 55, 56, 65, 66, 75, 76, 85, 86, 95, 96, 105, 106,
115, 116, and 13, all of the original Allotment No. 4 of the
said Section No. 3 of the Suburbs of Auckland, and by the
western boundary-line of Allotment No. 13, before mentioned,
produced to the southern side of Kyber Pass Road; thence by
the said Kyber Pass Road to the south-eastern side of Quarry
Road: thence generally towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of the said road to its junction with Mount
Eden Road: thence towards the south-west generally by
the southern side of the Mount Eden Road to Symonds.
Street; thence by a line to and by Basque Road and by
Sections Nos. 1, 3, 4, and 13, to the Great North Road;
thence by a line across the Great North Road to the intersection of the western side of that road with the north-
