and Revenue Stamps, Post-cards, Newspaper-wrappers, &c.," and in lieu thereof doth make the regulation of the same number set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes aforesaid, and doth order that such regulation shall have effect on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and five.

SCHEDULE.

  1. Postage-due stamps, discount-stamps, or stamps cut from stamped paper (meaning thereby bill or note forms, share-transfer forms, or any other form on which a stamp is impressed for payment of stamp duties under "The Stamp Act, 1882") cannot be used for prepayment of postage or for payment of telegrams. Such stamps, when identified in the post-office, will not be postmarked. Stamps cut from letter-cards, post-cards, newspaper-wrappers, registered-letter envelopes, and embossed envelopes, may be used as adhesive stamps in payment of postage. Imperfect, mutilated, or defaced stamps will not be accepted for payment of postage. A "registration-fee" stamp cut out of a registered-letter envelope may be used on any registered packet, but not on an unregistered packet. Stamps of Rarotonga, Niue, or Penrhyn Island may not be used outside those dependencies respectively for prepayment of postage.

Notice of Intention to define the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Nelson Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is amongst other things enacted that if there shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be any doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for which a reserve was set apart, he may by notice gazetted define such purpose or purposes as to either the whole or any part of such reserve, subject to the action of the General Assembly, as provided in the seventh section of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to define the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of the Schedule hereto from that named in the first column of the said Schedule to that named in the third column of the said Schedule respectively.

Polling-places abolished and appointed, City of Wellington District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Electoral Act, 1902," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may from time to time appoint, alter, and abolish polling-places for each electoral district within the limits thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing polling-places for the Electoral District of City of Wellington, and appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be polling-places for the said electoral district.
