do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the
said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and
set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
MIDLAND RAILWAY (MANU SECTION).
COMMENCING at a point on the boundary-line between Sections
11, Square 5, Block XVI., and 13A, Square 5, Block XV.,
Wangapeka Survey District, which point is also the termina-
tion of the railway as defined in a Proclamation dated
the 15th day of June, 1901, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 60, of the 20th day of June, 1901;
proceeding thence generally in a southerly and in a south-
westerly direction for a distance of about 10 miles 32 chains,
and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz.,
Sections 13A, 137, 19, and 21, Square 5, Block XV., Wanga-
peka Survey District; Sections 20, 124, 126, 157, 130, 133,
and 26, Block III., Tadmor Survey District; Sections 3, 4,
5, 6, and 7, Block VII., Tadmor Survey District; railway
reserve in Blocks VII., XI., and X., Tadmor Survey Dis-
trict—and terminating at a point on the southern boundary
of railway reserve for proposed Manu Railway-station site,
distant about 30 chains from the north-eastern corner of
Section No. 1, Block X., Tadmor Survey District: including
all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads,
tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: in the manner
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 21553, deposited in
the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington,
in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight
Commander of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight
Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His
Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this fifth day of December, in the year of our
Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the seventy-third section of “The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901” (herein termed “the said
Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that before cer-
tain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any
block of land it shall be necessary that the same be pro-
claimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the pur-
poses of the said Act, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for
settlement.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its
amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the con-
sents of the owners and mortgagees of the lands mentioned
in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Masterton County
Council, being the local authority in whose district the said
lands are situated, proclaim as a road the lands in Kaiwhata
Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and
also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, pro-
