Extract from Specification.—I provide removable fillers, that is, one set for regulating the heights of the blocks, and the other set for forming the different widths of the blocks, thereby varying the width of the wall to be constructed. The cores are adapted to be interchangeable for making the different shapes of the blocks. By this means the one mould is given a capacity for making blocks for walls varying greatly in the thickness thereof.

Claims.—(1.) For the purposes indicated, the parts constructed, combined, and operating substantially as and for the purposes specified, and illustrated in the drawing. (2.) For the purpose indicated, in combination, a vehicle-body, levers upon which said body is supported, pivotally connected to the shafts, a hand-lever, and a connecting-rod connecting said hand-lever with one of said pivoted levers, a back spring, shackles one upon each end thereof, a roller journaled in each shackle, and guide-races for each roller formed upon the side-springs of the vehicle, substantially as specified and illustrated.

Claims.—(1.) In a washboard, a frame consisting of the top and bottom boards f and h respectively, and the sides a and a¹, the upper ends of which screw into said top board, substantially as set forth. (2.) In a washboard, spindles such as d, free to move, and supported in a frame, substantially as set forth. (3.) In a washboard, the combination of the sides a and a¹ on which are shoulders such as b, or in which are pins as at c, with the top and bottom boards f and h, the spindles d¹,d¹, and the spindles d,d,d, substantially as set forth. (4.) In a washboard, spindles such as shown in Fig. 3, free to move, and supported in a frame, substantially as set forth.

No. 18437.—12th September, 1904. — ARTHUR STEWART BURGESS, of Wanganui, New Zealand, Warehouseman (nominee of Alexander Hatrick, of Wanganui aforesaid, Merchant, the assignee of William Thompson, of Caterham Valley, Surrey, England). A tipping-wagon.
Claims.—(1.) In tipping-wagons, a tipping-frame hinged to the body of the wagon at a point forward of its centre, and normally supporting the front end of the wagon, and means whereby the axle supporting the wagon at its back end may be moved so as to transfer the support to a point forward of the centre, when the tipping-frame is backed, substantially as specified. (2.) In tipping-wagons, a tipping-frame hinged to the body of the wagon at a point forward of its centre and normally supporting the front end of the wagon, a block extending across beneath the wagon-body and above the axle-bar, hinged at its front face to the under-
side of the wagon-body and at its rear face to the rear face of the axle-bar, and means whereby such block may be kept vertically above the axle-bar and may be caused to turn forward on its hinges when the tipping-frame is moved back, substantially as specified. (3.) In tipping-wagons, a tipping-frame hinged to the body of the wagon at a point forward of its centre and normally supporting the front end of the body, a block extending across beneath the body and above the rear axle, hinged at its front face to the underside of the body and its rear face to the rear face of the axle-bar, a metal bar extending forwardly from the axle-bar and beneath the body, a slot formed longitudinally in such bar, and a pin passing through the forward end of such slot and carried in the tipping-frame, all substantially as and for the purposes specified. (4.) The general arrangement, construction, and combination of parts in my tipping-wagon described and explained, as illustrated in the drawings, and for the several purposes set forth.

Claim.—Improved milk-strainer, comprising an elongated bowl, a hollow tin cone which telescopes into the aforesaid bowl, the said cone having fixed thereon slides with springs attached to lower ends of slides to hold detachable angle gauzes, also circular tin flange which telescopes into elongated bowl and rests on base of cone.
