safely and conveniently used without danger to the public: And whereas application has been made by the general manager of the Mornington Municipal Tramways for permission to use carriages and rolling-stock up to eight feet in width on the said tramways:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby allow carriages and rolling-stock up to eight feet in width to be used, on and after the date hereof, on that portion of the said tramways constructed under and by virtue of the provisions of an Order in Council dated the thirty-first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four.

Land temporarily reserved in the Wellington Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereunder, for railway purposes.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 4, Block XIX., Town of Taihape.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Taranaki.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for cemetery purposes, being a reserve within Class I. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a public-school site, being a reserve within Class III. of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four, be appropriated for a public-school site under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 4 perches, more or less, being Section No. 26 (formerly part of Section No. 24), Block I., Mahoe Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the Whangamomona Road, 22 and 292·8 links; towards the east by the Whangamomona Road, 304·1 and 201·2 links; towards the south by a road-line, 457 links; and towards the west by Section No. 47 of the said Block I., 108·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52111A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four.

And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for a public recreation-ground, being a reserve within Class III. of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and four, be appropriated for a public recreation-ground under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 85 acres, more or less, being Section No. 3710 (in red), Block VIII., Rangiora Survey District (formerly part of Reserve No. 1579). Bounded towards the east by the Beach Reserve, 20 chains from high-water mark; towards the south-west by Section No. 11316; and towards the north-west by Section No. 13758, a road-line, the stream forming the eastern boundary of Reserve No. 709, and drain reserve 100 links wide: save and except a road and drain reserve each 1 chain wide intersecting the above-described area: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 37197, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Bounded towards the north by a road-line, 488·5 links; towards the east by the Whangamomona Road, 19·9 and 685·3 links; towards the south by Section No. 24 of the aforesaid Block I., 905·1 links; and towards the west by the Whangamomona Township Reserve, 824·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52111, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
