Validating the Public Notification for a Further Loan of £58 (being 10 per Cent. on the £585 Loan) for the Construction of Kakariki and Gust’s Lines of Roads, and a Further Loan of £50 (being 10 per Cent. on the £500 Loan) for the Construction of Pukipuki Road, applied for by the Manawatu County Council.
PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of October, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the Manawatu County Council lately proposed to raise a further loan of fifty-eight pounds (being ten per centum on the five-hundred-and-eighty-five-pounds loan) for the construction of Kakariki and Gust’s lines of roads, and a further loan of fifty pounds (being ten per centum on the five-hundred-pounds loan) for the construction of Pukipuki Road: And whereas special orders making special rates have been made as security for the said respective loans: And whereas the public notifications of the said Council to make such rates are defective, inasmuch as the special orders making the special rates have not been advertised during the four weeks immediately preceding the date of confirmation, as required by section eleven of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1903”: And whereas it appears that the respective original special rates are more than sufficient security for the combined respective original and further loans; and that the ratepayers of the Sandon Riding and Pukipuki Special-rating Districts respectively have not been misled, and it is expedient to validate such irregularities respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by section ten of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” doth hereby declare that the respective public notifications of the said special orders shall be deemed and taken to be valid to all intents and purposes as though the said special orders had been advertised during the four weeks immediately preceding the date of confirming such special orders.

Clerk of the Executive Council.
