Lands withdrawn from State Forests.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto are State forests under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and the said lands are now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment Act, 1888,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Proclamation specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, so far as it relates to the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the parcels of land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,908 acres 2 roods 39 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 6, 11, and 157 of Square 2, Block III.; Section No. 9, Block VI.; Section No. 8, and Section No. 213 of Square 2, Block VII.; and Sections Nos. 8 and 9, Block X., all of the Wai-iti Survey District. | Proclamation dated the 17th November, 1886, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 61, of the 25th November, 1886. |
| Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,100 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks XIV. and XV., Kaiteriteri Survey District, and Blocks XI., XII., and XV., Takaka Survey District. Bounded towards the west by a road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 5 and 6, Block XI., Takaka Survey District, to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 10, Block XV., Takaka Survey District; thence towards the south-west by the last-mentioned boundary-line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 10; thence again towards the west by the said Section No. 10, and by Sections Nos. 81 and 82 to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 82, Block XV., Takaka Survey District; thence towards the south by the southern boundary-line of a State forest, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, 10th January, 1901, for a distance of 30 chains, more or less; thence towards the south-east by the other portion of the said State forest to the south-western boundary-line of a proposed scenic reserve; thence towards the north-east by the said proposed scenic reserve to the Takaka-Riwaka Road; thence towards the north-west by the said Takaka-Riwaka Road to a point in line with the western boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block XIV., Kaiteriteri Survey District; thence towards the east by a right line to and thence by the said boundary-line of Section No. 1; again towards the south by said Section No. 1; again towards the east by Section No. 2, Block XIV.; again towards the south by the said Section No. 2 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block XIV.; again towards the east by said Section No. 3 for a distance of 20 chains, more or less; thence towards the north by a right line bearing due west to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 5, Block XI., Takaka Survey District. | Proclamation dated the 7th January, 1901, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, of the 10th January, 1901. |
| Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 100 acres, more or less, situated in Block XI., Takaka Survey District. Bounded towards the north from the north-eastern corner of Section No. 84, Block XI., Takaka Survey District, by Sections Nos. 12 and 13 of the said Block XI., to the south-eastern corner of the said Section No. 13; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the northernmost corner of Section No. 7, Block XI., Takaka Survey District; thence towards the south by the said Section No. 7; towards the west by Section No. 84 aforesaid to the place of commencement.

As the above-described areas are delineated on the plan No. 52299, deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. | |
| MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Marlborough Land District, situated in Block X., Wakamarina Survey District, containing by admeasurement 400 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 1 and 32; towards the east by the Wakamarina River; towards the south by other portion of State forest; and towards the west by Section No. 35. | Proclamation dated the 2nd March, 1887, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 23, of the 7th April, 1887. |
| Also all that area in the Marlborough Land District, situated in Blocks X. and XIV., Wakamarina Survey District, containing by admeasurement 580 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by the other portion of State forest; towards the east by the Wakamarina River; and towards the south-west and west by other portion of State forest.

As the above-described areas are delineated on the plan No. 50782, deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. | |

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.
