Rural Lands in the Taranaki Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that
the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the ninth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the
option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be
selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied,
or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased
under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Situate on Mokau Road. Access from Urenui, distant about twenty miles by dray-road; half the distance metalled.
River-flat; all felled and grassed; soil rich loam. Weighted with £60 16s. valuation for improvements, comprising
house, £30; felling and grassing about 4 acres, £8; under-scrubbing, £2; 28 chains fencing, £16 16s.; drains, £1;
fruit-trees, £3.

Situate on Ohura Road. Access from Stratford, distant about thirty-two miles; fourteen miles formed and metalled
dray-road, remainder formed dray-road. Generally low hilly grazing country; a few acres level on Section 16. Nearly
all the bush on Section 17 is felled, and 120 acres on Section 16. The balance of the forest is moderately heavy, com-
prising tawa, rimu, rata, kahikatea, and thick undergrowth; soil good, on papa formation; well watered. Elevation,
500 ft. to 1,248 ft. above sea-level. Weighted with £876 10s. valuation for improvements, consisting of four-roomed
house, £200; 240 acres in grass, £444; 90 acres felling, £112 10s.; 160 chains fencing, £120.

hundred and four.

Part level, part undulating; rather stony; all forest; covered with mixed bush from which all accessible milling has
been removed, remaining bush consists of matai, rimu, hinau, miro, totara, kahikatea, beech, kohai, matipo, &c.; well
watered.

Weighted with improvements valued at £591, consisting of new nine-roomed dwellinghouse, three-stall stable, wash-
house, cowshed, 8 acres cleared and grassed, 41 chains fencing, and garden.

Accessible by road, fifteen miles from Kaikoura.

W. L. Langesen’s tramway, half a chain wide, to be reserved for one year from the 1st January, 1904, and mill-site
for two years from the 1st January, 1904, to enable Mr. Langesen to remove and cut up timber from Section 6 and S.G.
Run 103.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of January, one thousand nine
