Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
No. 17159.—29th October, 1903.—GEORGE LEACH, of 233, Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Ironmonger. An improved cream-separator.*
Claims.—(1.) The described cream-separator consisting of the various parts constructed, arranged, and operating substantially as and for the purposes specified, and as illustrated in the drawings. (2.) In a cream-separator of the kind described, an inner and an outer drum or cylinder, the former being fitted with an inlet and an outlet or overflow tube for maintaining a circulation of cooling-water through said cylinder, substantially as and for the purposes specified, and as illustrated in the drawings.

No. 17198.—30th October, 1903.—HERBERT CARTER and RICHARD TURNER PATERSON, of 275, Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Leather-goods Manufacturers (assignees of James Kinsella, of Russell Street, Camberwell, Victoria aforesaid, Leather-goods Manufacturer). Improved parcel or package strap.*
Claims.—(1.) In a parcel or package strap, the combination with a side encircling buckle strap as A, of an end strap as A¹, substantially as described and shown. (2.) In a parcel or package strap, two side encircling buckle straps as A, intersecting each other or connected together in the form of an X at bottom part of strap and connected together by a handle-piece at top, substantially as described and shown. (3.) The improved parcel or package strap composed of two side encircling buckle straps A, connected together at C at bottom part and by the handle-piece B at top part and the end straps A¹, all connected and furnished substantially as described and shown.

No. 17202.—4th November, 1903.—ALEXANDER CAMPBELL, of Sutton, Otago, New Zealand, Gold-miner. Improved animal-trap.*
Claims.—(1.) The general construction, arrangement, and combination of parts composing my improved animal-trap, all substantially as and for the purposes described. (2.) In an animal-trap of the class described, a noosed cord adapted to tighten on and hold an animal on the trap being released, substantially as described.

No. 17203.—5th November, 1903.—FRANCIS JOSEPH ELLERY, of Raetihi, New Zealand, Settler. An improved method of and means for use in leg-roping cows.*
Extract from Specification.—In carrying out the invention, the leg-rope has one of its ends securely attached to a fixed point a distance from the ground somewhat higher than the knees of the cow. When the cow has been placed in the bail, the rope is brought across behind the off rear leg and then looped around the near leg, just below the knee. The free end of the rope is then drawn rearwardly so as to raise the leg from the ground, and is secured by being passed around a fixed peg and jammed within a special form of gripping appliance.
