Order by the Controller and Auditor-General fixing rates under Section 15 of "The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896."
Audit Office,
Wellington, 28th July, 1904.
UNDER the authority of section 15 of "The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896," I, the Controller and Auditor-General, being satisfied that the change in the mode of levying rates by the Council of the Borough of North Invercargill will, in consequence of the adoption of "The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896," within the district of the said borough, have the effect of diminishing the security for the loans raised by the Council of £5,700 under "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and £1,300 under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," hereby fix the following rates in the pound on the unimproved value as the security for the said loans, such being the rates which will, as nearly as may be, produce respectively the same amounts as the rates levied before the change was made:—
A rate of 3 8/32d. in the pound as the security for the loan of £5,700.
A rate of 3 10/32d. in the pound as the security for the loan of £1,300.
