notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting.

Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum.
Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in
the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a cast-
ing vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election
of his successor. -
The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual
meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the
previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December,
together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure
of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report
and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct,
shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible
after each annual meeting. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of
such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the
office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members
may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
man. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth
hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in
respect of the parcel of Crown land described in the Sche-
dule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being
Reserve No. 316, situate in Block VIII., Selwyn Survey
District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road-line;
towards the south-east by Section No. 9064, 95·3 links;
towards the south-west by the same section, 1000 links; and
towards the north-west by the Great Southern Railway
Reserve, 1060 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
seventh day of June, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,”
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council,
dated the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-eight, making delegation of cer-
tain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby,
with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the
land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers con-
ferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sec-
tions five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years
from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked
under the said Act), to the undermentioned persons, who
shall be known as the Naseby Domain Board, namely,——
John Weir,
James Richard Smith,
Robert Sheppard Franks Inder,
Thomas Stephens,
Ernest Cargill Cutten,
James Dawson, and
John Reid
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipu-
lations hereinafter contained, that is to say,——
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the first Monday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock
p.m., at Naseby, or at such other time or place as may from
time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall
be held on Monday, the first day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and four.

by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in Otago Land District containing 120 acres,
more or less, being Section No. 23, Block I., Naseby Sur-
vey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a road
forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 7
and 26 of Block VI., Naseby Survey District, to a point
distant 3399·8 links, more or less, measured along the
southern side of the said road from the northernmost corner
of Section No. 24 of the said Block VI.; thence towards the
north-east by a line bearing 150° 54′ for a distance of 3277·1
links, more or less; towards the east by a road-line;
towards the south by Sections Nos. 25 and 24 of the said
Block VI.; towards the west by the said Section No. 24 to
the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section, the
place of commencement: as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin.

Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
seventh day of June, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land
Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that
the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the
operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The
Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said
Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally
or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall
be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate,
which is for the time being subject to the operation of the
said section, or any interest therein or right over the same,
or may in like manner make such exception in favour ex-
clusively of any lessee or other person who has been bond
fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such
land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or pur-
chase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided
that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section
shall take effect until after the expiration of two months
from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette:
Provided also that every alienation under the provisions of
this section shall be confirmed by the Court in terms of
section fifty-three of the said Act :
