in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the eighteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

These sections are all cultivable, and the soil is of fair quality. There is no permanent surface-water, but water might be obtained by sinking on Section 30.

The larger portion of each area is cultivable, but the aspect generally is not good. Permanent water is on each area, and the soil is good.

These sections are all steep and broken, and have a southerly aspect. They contain permanent water, and are only fit for grazing purposes.

These sections have a westerly aspect, and are too steep and broken for successful cultivation; the soil is fair. Permanent water might be obtained by sinking.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 341 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, and 250, Te Papa Parish. Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 241 and 243 of Te Papa Parish; towards the east by a public road; and towards the south and west generally by Section No. 251 of aforesaid parish, and by a public road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52100, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For the preservation of scenery.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood 13 perches, more or less, being Section No. 125, Parish of Kaiwaka. Bounded towards the north by a public road; towards the east by a public road; and towards the south and west by Hakaru No. 1 Kauri-gum Reserve: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52100A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a recreation reserve.

Commencing at a point on the west side of the Taumaranui-Ongarue Road, where it intersects the left bank of the Rangaroa Stream, the said point being distant 1101860·4 links S. and 211486·6 links E. of initial trig. No. 16, Mount Eden, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction along the Taumaranui-Ongarue Road a distance of 1132·9 links; thence again in a southerly direction by a line bearing S. 62° 36′ W., a distance of 464 links, to the road reserve along the left bank of the Ongarue River; towards the south-west by said road reserve to the Rangaroa Stream; and towards the north-west by the said Rangaroa Stream to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52095, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red. For a cemetery reserve.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 57 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 94 and 95, Parish of Apata. Bounded towards the north by public roads and by Section No. 93 of the Parish of Apata; towards the east and south by a public road and by a right line from the southernmost angle of the said road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 96 of the parish aforesaid; and towards the west by said Section No. 96: save and except a road, 100 links wide, which intersects the above-described boundary: be the aforesaid linkage more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52095A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For primary education.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 239 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block VI., Te Tumu Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road reserve along the southern bank of the Kaituna River; towards the east by Section No. 2, Block VI., Te Tumu Survey District; and towards the south and west by a public road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52095B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For primary education.
