Land taken for widening Adelaide Road and Luxford Street,
in the City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the widening of streets in the City of Wellington known as Adelaide Road and Luxford Street, in pursuance of the powers granted by “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897,” and “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900”:
And whereas the Council of the City of Wellington has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of the other Acts hereinbefore mentioned, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of widening Adelaide Road and Luxford Street, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its amendments, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owner of the land hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Remuera Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the land in Rangitoto Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,—
