  1. The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on and after the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and four, at the prices specified in the said Schedule.

  2. The said lands may be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on lease in perpetuity; provided that in the case of lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, they shall be selected on lease in perpetuity only and shall not be purchased for cash.

This section is situated on the right bank of the Wangaehu River, in the Taonui Block, and has access from Manga-mahu by twelve miles of road, nine of which consist of good metalled road, and three miles of unmetalled road. This section comprises hilly bush country and easy slopes, with a few small flats suitable for homestead purposes; it ranges in elevation from 900 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level, falling from the western boundary to the river. The section is well watered by numerous creeks and also by the river; the soil ranges from fair to good, resting on papa-and-sandstone formation. There is a good homestead-site on the section, and about 142 acres have been felled and grassed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and four.
