A PROCLAMATION. A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purposes of a road in Block XII., Opaku Survey District: WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the supply of water for the use of the inhabitants of the Borough of Wanganui, and for extending and enlarging the present waterworks, in pursuance of powers granted by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900”:
And whereas an agreement has been entered into with the owner of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth: And whereas the Council of the Borough of Wanganui has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
And whereas a plan has been prepared and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the said Act: Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of the other Act hereinbefore mentioned, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purpose of waterworks, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wanganui.
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of a road.
