Lands taken for a Public Road in Tokatoka Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of a public road in the Tokatoka Survey District:

And whereas the Hobson County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purpose of a public road.

All in the Auckland Land District; as the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plans marked as above mentioned, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above stated.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its amendments, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owners and of the mortgagees of the land hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Rangitikei County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the land in the Wangaehu Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,—

Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a Point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongarue River Valley—namely, Waiouru, Murimotu, Raetihi, and Waimarino Sections.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongarue River Valley (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1884”: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same—namely, Waiouru, Murimotu, Raetihi, and Waimarino Sections:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1884,” and “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in 2A, Raketapauma (Native land), Block VIII., Maungakaretu Survey District, the said point being the termination of the Taihape-Turangarere Section of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 12th day of June, 1902, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of 19th June, 1902; proceeding thence generally in a northerly and north-westerly direction for a distance of about 42 miles 39 chains 25 links, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., 2A Raketapauma (Native land), Block VIII., Maungakaretu Survey District; 1r1 Raketapauma (Native land), Block IV., Maungakaretu Survey District; 1A Motukawa (Crown land), Block I., Ohinewairua Survey District; 1r2 Raketapauma (Native land), Block IV., Maungakaretu Survey District; Rangipo-Waiu A (Crown land), Block XIII., Moawhango Survey District; Subdivision 2A (Crown land), Block IX., Moawhango Survey District; Subdivision 3B (Native land), Block XII., Karioi Survey District; Subdivision 4A (Crown land), Blocks XI. and XII., Karioi Survey District; Subdivisions 4B and 5B (Native land), Block XI., Karioi Survey District; Subdivision 5A (Crown land), Block XI., Karioi Survey District, being subdivisions of the Murimotu Block; Subdivision 4r1 (Crown land), Blocks VI. and VII., Karioi Survey District; Subdivision 4r7 (Native land), Block VI., Karioi Survey District; Subdivision 4r12 (Native land), Block VI., Karioi Survey District; Subdivision 1 (Crown land), Block VI., Karioi Survey District, being subdivisions of the Rangiwaera Block; Waiakaki Block,
