APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A MINING PRIVILEGE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Lawrence.
PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, John Charles Short, of Dunedin, Gentleman, George Maroni Grigg, of Dunedin, Importer, William Adams, of Dunedin, Miner, and Alexander Sutherland and John Donaldson, both of Waitahuna, Miners, hereby apply for a license for a mining privilege, as specified in the Schedule hereto, in respect to the land therein referred to, which has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Dates and numbers of miners’ rights: 13th August, 1903; No. 38825. 15th February, 1904; No. 43610. 3rd December, 1903; No. 41760. 13th August, 1903; No. 38826. 18th September, 1902; No. 38848.

SCHEDULE.
Description of mining privilege: A strip of land 40 ft. wide, extending along the entire length of the course of extension of water-race No. 1011, held under license No. 443, dated the 12th October, 1903, which said strip of land is a width of 20 ft. on each side of the said extension of water-race measured from the centre of the course of such extension, and is pegged by applicants with pegs marked X.
Purpose for which mining privilege is to be used: For the purposes of the construction, maintenance, and improvement of the said extension of water-race, for facilitating mining operations, and effectuating the purposes of the Mining Act.
Water-race in connection with which the mining privilege is to be used: Extension of water-race No. 1011, held under license No. 443, dated the 12th day of October, 1903.
Proposed term of license: For a term commencing on the date hereof and ending on the 25th day of May, 1913.

In the matter of the Fortification Coal Syndicate (Limited).
AT a meeting of the members of the above-named company, held at Dunedin on Monday, the 25th January, 1904, the following special resolution was passed: “That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of ‘The Companies Act, 1903.’” It was also resolved that DAVID LARNACH, of Dunedin, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.
At a subsequent meeting held at Dunedin on Wednesday, the 17th day of February, 1904, the above resolutions were confirmed. Dated this 19th day of February, 1904.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.
APPLICATION having been made to me to issue a provisional title in the name of BRIGHAM HANCOCK, of Riverton, Bootmaker, for Section 1, Block III., Township of Wrey’s Bush, being the land in Crown grant registered in Vol. 16, folio 58, and satisfactory evidence having been lodged of the destruction by fire of the said Crown grant, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a provisional title for the said land as requested at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
