A PPLICATION having been made to me to issue a provisional certificate of title in the name of PHILIP ROUSE, of Invercargill, Surfaceman, for Sections 15 and 16, Block V., Town of North Invercargill, being the land in certificate of title, Register-book, Vol. 39, folio 100, and satisfactory evidence having been lodged of the destruction by fire of the said certificate of title, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a provisional certificate of title for the said land as requested at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897,” “The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899,” and “The Public Works Act, 1894.”

N OTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of Adelaide Road, in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate at the corner of Featherston Street and Brandon Street, in the said city, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk, Wellington.

THE NEW ZEALAND LAUNDRY COMPANY (LTD.).

A T an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the above company, held at the office of the Secretary on 12th January, 1904, the quorum required by the rules being present, the following resolutions were passed:—

1st. That the company go into voluntary liquidation.

2nd. That Mr. W. B. A. Morrison be appointed Liquidator.

These resolutions were duly confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting convened and held for the purpose on 27th instant.

I, WILLIAM LAURENCE SIMPSON, Manager of the Trustees, Executors, and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited), do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare,—

  1. That the liability of the company is limited.

  2. That the capital of the company is £50,000, divided into 10,000 shares of £5 each.

  3. That the number of shares issued is 10,000.

  4. That calls to the amount of £1 per share have been made, from which the sum of £10,000 has been received.

  5. That the amount of money received as executor of estates under administration for the six months to the 30th September, 1903, was £8,268 0s. 8d.

  6. That the amount of money paid as executor of estates under administration for the six months to the 30th September, 1903, was £1,860 1s. 11d.

  7. That the amount of money held as executor of estates under administration was, at the 30th September, 1903, £6,021 10s. 4d.

  8. That the amount remaining in the company’s hands at the 30th September, 1903, to the credit of estates for which the company is trustee, which sum is represented by either cash or securities, or both, was £334,366 5s. 8d.

  9. That the company’s liabilities and assets were as follows:—

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” and the amendments of the said respective Acts.

N OTICE is hereby given that at the poll held on Wednesday, the 3rd day of February, 1904, upon the proposal to raise a special loan of £3,500 for placing drains in certain portions of Collis Hollow and Lock-up Creek, filling in same, and doing all acts necessary thereto, the following votes were recorded:—
